Buenas tardes, Silvia:

Muchas gracias,
Lorena

Dear Maria Daniela,
Congratulations on your excellent work! Could you share some specific strategies or approaches that educators could implement to integrate interactive activities from children's books into early childhood EFL classrooms, enhancing cultural competence among young learners?
Best,

Dear María Daniela,
I would like to add that when considering intercultural competence, the risk of stereotypes or rejections can indeed be heightened if students are not in a guided environment. Without proper guidance and support, students may struggle to navigate cultural differences effectively, potentially leading to misunderstandings, stereotypes, or even rejection of other cultures. Therefore, while a flipped classroom approach can offer valuable opportunities for learning, it's essential to ensure that students receive adequate guidance and support to foster constructive interactions and minimize the risk of negative outcomes.
Best regards,
Luz and Paola

Dear María Daniela,
Thank you for your question. While our study primarily focused on higher-level students, it's important to note that the activities can be adapted for lower levels as well. In such cases, adjustments to the content included in the games should be made to cater to their specific needs and proficiency levels.
Best regards,

Dear Paola! What about the potential challenges of implementing collaborative projects, such as pen pal exchanges or joint research projects, for promoting intercultural communication - I think it would be great, but of course it depends on your research centre, the research programmes, etc. For example now in our University Rovira i Virgili now some pragmatic communicative challenges of Chinese students studying Spanish language are under research .

Dear Elaine,
Thank you for your insightful comment. To be honest, I have not thought about the pedagogical relevance of the findings for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners as I am still in the process of analyzing the data. It is definitely food for thought. In any case, one idea could be to teach EFL learners to write a comedy sitcom script (or at least a scene) in which they could use hyperbole as a humour generator. Another idea, especially interesting for arts students, could be to dramatize (to act it out) the script they create. Thank you once again.
Best wishes,

Dear Luz,
Thank you very much for your kind words regarding my presentation on storytelling and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). I truly appreciate your interest and support.
I must admit that I currently lack direct experience in implementing technological tools within the context of storytelling and UDL. For further exploration, I would recommend looking into academic resources on Google Scholar, where you can find a wealth of literature on the intersection of technology, storytelling, and UDL.
Once again, I sincerely appreciate your interest in my work and your thoughtful inquiry. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.
Kind regards,
Bárbara

Dear María Daniela,
Thank you for your encouraging comments! Certainly, teaching the pragmatic aspects of language presents undeniable challenges. I consider that intercultural competence, including awareness of cultural nuances in communication, can effectively be integrated into a Flipped Classroom approach. However, it is mandatory to utilize pre-class materials to introduce cultural concepts and provide guided activities and discussions during in-class sessions; thus, students have the opportunity to explore, reflect upon, and apply intercultural skills in a collaborative learning environment.
Best regards,
Luz

Dear María Daniela,
Thanks for your kind words! In this case, Padlet was used. However, there are other tools that offer several advantages. I have experience with Storybird which is also an excellent tool for implementing narrative projects. I hope you find time to explore it: https://www.storybird.com/

Thank you for your comment! I think that nowadays any public feedback should be anonymised but repeated or generalised issues should be addressed publicly without giving any names. What I sometimes do for writing is an error correction exercises with a collection of real examples from students' texts to reflect on. Apart from oral feedback on certain aspects of their writing.

Hi Iratxe,
There is no adequate training to foster student engagement and given its importance this should be a priority. But fortunately, there are many teachers around the world who are willing to motivate students and prepare fun and varied practices.
